FAFELA: Futures in Agro-Food Economics and Logistics Analytics Journal is an international, open-access, and double-blind peer-reviewed journal dedicated to being the premier platform for forward-looking research at the intersection of agricultural economics, food systems, and data-driven logistics.
Our primary mission is to publish high-quality, original research that utilizes quantitative, analytical, and predictive modeling approaches to address contemporary and future challenges in global agro-food supply chains. FAFELA bridges the gap between theoretical economic frameworks and practical computational applications to foster innovation in food security and agribusiness optimization.

Focus Areas

The journal welcomes empirical and theoretical contributions across two primary pillars:

  1. Agro-Food Economics This pillar focuses on the application of modern economic theories and quantitative methods to the agricultural sector, including but not limited to:
    • Market Forecasting & Price Dynamics: Predictive modeling of agricultural commodity markets, price volatility, and global food demand.
    • Circular & Bio-Economy: Techno-economic analysis of sustainable food systems, waste valorization, and regenerative agribusiness models.
    • Risk Management & Policy Modeling: Quantitative assessment of international trade policies, food security strategies, and the economic impact of climate change on agriculture.
    • Digital Agriculture Economics: Socio-economic evaluations of the adoption of Smart Farming, IoT, and precision agriculture technologies.
  2. Agro-Food Logistics Analytics This pillar emphasizes the use of mathematical and computational optimization to solve logistics challenges within the food industry:

Out of Scope Statement

To maintain a rigorous academic focus, FAFELA does not accept or review manuscripts in the following areas:

    • Pure agronomy, soil science, or plant pathology (without economic/logistics analysis).
    • General business administration or management studies that do not specifically target the agro-food sector.
